When your heart feels unseen in marriage 💔

Assalamu Alaikum Reader,

Some time ago, a beautiful sister wrote to me sharing her struggle — she felt unseen, unheard, and emotionally exhausted in her marriage. She said, “Some days my marriage feels like a blessing. Other days, I feel damaged and deeply disturbed.”

I missed her message at the time (and that’s on me — may Allah forgive me for the delay), but I know her words reflect what many women quietly carry.
That mix of love and pain, gratitude and guilt, hope and fear — it’s real.

And to the sister reading this who might feel the same:
💔 You are not too sensitive.
💔 You are not imagining things.
💔 You are a woman who values emotional connection, safety, and love that reflects rahmah — mercy — the very foundation of a marriage in Islam.

Over time, I’ve realized that many of us get stuck in what I call the “Resentment to Rahmah” cycle.
It’s when our hearts shift from hurt and bitterness to compassion, calm, and clarity — through reconnecting with ourselves and Allah, not by fixing everything overnight.

If this resonates, try starting small:
🕊️ When you feel dismissed or misunderstood, pause and say to yourself,

“This part of me feels unseen right now.”
“This part of me is asking for gentleness.”

It’s not weakness — it’s awareness.
And awareness is the first step toward emotional safety, connection, and healing.

If you’d like to explore this deeper, I’d love to offer you a private reflection call — a space to be heard, held, and guided gently back to clarity, insha’Allah.
